Hunterdon County is not one roofing market

A roof in Lambertville and a roof in Lebanon Township have almost nothing in common beyond the weather. Lambertville is dense, attached and shallow-pitched, with parapet walls and low-slope rear ells that need membrane rather than shingles. Lebanon Township is wooded, hilly and exposed, where limb fall and ridge-top wind do the damage.

The pages below reflect that. Each one covers the housing stock, the exposure and the roofing problems that are genuinely characteristic of that municipality — not the same paragraph with the name changed.

Delaware River boroughs

Dense, closely built nineteenth-century cores where low-slope rear sections, parapet walls and persistent river-corridor damp drive most of the roofing work.

    City

    Lambertville, NJ

Lambertville sits on the Delaware River opposite New Hope, Pennsylvania, connected by the New Hope–Lambertville Bridge. The Delaware and Raritan Canal runs through the city, and the land rises steeply away from the river, so streets climb quickly from the flat riverside blocks into the hillside above.
